If you continously have the volume really loud, it can affect your hearing later on in life.

Hearing loss is the biggest risk of any headset you use. The risk is bigger if you have the volume loud, or use it while exercising (because the blood flows to the muscles that are working, leaving your ears more vulnerable).

As with almost anything, moderation is the key to happiness.

I knew a young teen who had a walk man headset on one day as he took a short cut along some railway tracks. He was hit from behind by a freight train and pronounced dead along a three hundred foot scene.

Just dont use it while walking, otherwise there is no immediate danger.
Prolonged use is as harmful as using the handphone frequently. The effects differ from user to user. Some have early hearing loss, some are affected mentally.

keep the volume down for two reasons. one- loud music directly in your ears can cause hearing problems and two-if it's to loud, you won't hear the bus coming up behind you.
