sure, why not, when i used to be a little punk i hung out with little punks, now i'm not and i don't :)
Edit: It doesn't count if they're hanging with family though... I mean you kinda have to hang with family sometimes, right? but anyone else, sure :)

No I honestly don't think it is fair. When I was in high school, my best friend had a bad reputation around town...I was the opposite to her and another friend took me aside one day and told me, I really should stop hanging around this girl because through her, I was gaining a reputation that I had no idea about...I figured it was other peoples problems and not mine to deal with. I know the type of person I am and that's all I have to worry about.

It can be, but you still need to judge the character of the person based on their own merits. For example, a friend of mine used to be a police officer who would minister to gang members to try and help them out of that life style. Naturally, he would hang around gang bangers and you wouldn't necessarily judgment him by his friends anymore that you would judge a doctor because of his patients.
If someone hangs around people of questionable character, the issue really becomes whether or not the person supports or endorses the undesirable characteristics of his or her company. Does that person exercise a positive influence or does the company influence the person? Answer those questions and then make your decision.

For the most part, you should. Usually bad people flock together, and if you do not "judge" them, so you can take measures to stay away from them, you may get hurt by them.

Sad to say, but I do..if you hang out with a bunch of sl*ts, Im going to think you are a sl*t. if you hand out with a bunch of low lifes, I'm going to assume that you are a low life..but that doesn't necessarily mean that that's true..it's just how society thilnks..
