It is of some concern and ought to be checked out. It's probably not related to the operation except that some of the post-op pain relief medications can cause patients to get constipated.

Constipation in turn can result in an anal fissure.

This may in turn cause blood in the stool.

If she was to go and see her usual doctor, she might do well to be examined and to see if she has an anal fissure causing the blood in the stool.

If there is no evidence of haemorrhoid or anal fissure, it may be that there is a cause for the bleeding further up and she might need to be referred for further testing: sigmoidoscopy or colonoscopy.

I guess it depends on if the blood was bright or dark and the amount.. she could have a simple hemorrhoid.. or the anesthesia maybe made her a little constipated and she was having a hard time passing the stool and has a tear.. If it continues I would consult your doctor

Don't worry, it is just your body reacting to the medication and pain killers. It is nothing to worry about unless it resumes in the next week.
