Well if you qualify, the government, and other entities run by subsidiaries do offer housing assistance.

In my area, it is administered by a seperate agency just for our county. I think it is a great program that offers the renter alot of options in terms of housing.

Good luck it is easier to get help when you won't work
and going back to the father just for money wouldn't work

you can
live in low income housing
get subsidized childcare from the state
see if your eligible for medicaid and food stamps
get earned income tax credit on you income taxes
look for free food cupboards/clothes
