You don't have to convince the many; only a few are needed to change the world. However, as long as the 'system' relies on popular opinion (democracy) we will share the same fate as the Athenians; we are at the mercy of the mob.
A different system is needed. Rational Democracy? If you are trying to find a head mechanic, a vote taken for candidates all vetted as master mechanics would be valid. If you include a veterinarian amongst the candidates your vote legitimises this as a valid choice in the minds of your friends, peers, and children. This applies in any field; if you are voting for a president of a free country, to include an advocate of socialism invalidates the election. The difference between socialism and capitalism is not a matter of degree and cannot be compromised etc.
The current system is validated by the few who know that they are doing the wrong thing by participating, but participate anyway. How can the ignorant, the children stand up for a principle when those who attempt to teach it are not only co-operating with its opposite, but financially profiting from it as well? Why would they deprive themselves of the material benefits of communism, the cheap TVs and clothes their parents and teachers enjoy?
You vote for or against socialism with every dollar you spend. Every child is watching, and acting accordingly...You must be able to say, honestly and with pride, "The communists won't get MY money!" Lead the next generation, by example.

Good question, I think they will eventually have to reap the rewards of their ignorance in one form or another before they realize that the glowing light at the end of the tunnel is not the way out, it is the train coming. Be it the train of socialized mediocrity or the train of impending indoctrination to the new world order. Or worse yet, the death of millions of our own citizens after the religious zealots of Islam manage to bring a device over that they are building as we speak in Iran. Teach your own children as well as you can and hope they understand the real dangers outside and inside our country.

The odds are against it.
What this group offers: never feeling bad, never having to work (unless you like it), never denying yourself something that "feels good," never being accountable for these choices . . . are very savory!
What does the opposition offer: feeling bad can build character, working, denying some things that "feel good" for moral virtue, accountability, planning, "the long haul" . . .
Who would want to be responsible for themselves or their lives, if someone else is promising to take care of all your needs allowing you do do what you "wanna?"
Maybe people need to spend some time living on these "hand outs," to understand how truly oppressive they are, how demoralizing they are.

this is hilarious...of all the problems in this world you choose radical environmentalism, one world order, and socialism. You're right somewhat though...our public schools brainwash alright..brainwash all the critical thinking skills from every child in order to make them perfect corporate consumers. And the media is the #1 accomplice in promoting the freedumbs you adore.

Not as good as the odds of Americans re-claiming freedom from the clutches of "capitalism on acid" which is the form of capitalism THIS country is currently practicing.
YOUR bank account is not what should determine how society is behaving.

Funny, I thought that freedom was limited when you can have your phone wiretapped without a warrant or be thrown in jail without the benefit of Habeas Corpus. These are the things that conservative have foisted upon us. Looking to make sure that there is a planet in the future and seeing that the poor and indigent are helped are bad? Your freedoms are being stolen but not by those you worry about, it is being stolen by your neo-cons.

Having faith in ourselves and in God will win the day. Rather than to be a person of no action as many Christians are (these are people who claim to be Christians, yet they do nothing about goodness and they allow evil to rule this world as a result of their do nothing attitude), I choose to within God's boundaries take a stand for goodness and like all Methodist try to bring about goodness within this world.
If we do nothing about our nation's ills, such ills will always remain. Do nothing and you will get nothing. God gives to those who work the efforts of their labors.
Reclaiming our nation's freedom comes by our faith in God and by our good works.
I like the questions you ask above, but the answers would fill a few pages...too lengthy to properly answer here.

I will give you that there are extremists on all sides.. including that of environmentalists and the far left .. but they are the minority.. and they are balanced by the extremists on the right

Magic eight ball says: Outlook not good.
However, the bankruptcy of our government following the flight of money overseas to escape Socialistic taxes may turn a few heads.
