Prepaid cell phones are usually good for people who do not use them that often. I have looked into TracFone, Virgin Mobile, T-Mobile, Cingular, Verizon and several other local providers.
I use cell phone for emergencies only. For my purpose T-Mobile has the best prepaid annual plan, where $100 gets me 1,000 minutes that are good for 365 days.

First check who provides the best servics in your area.
Then check one or two of the companies.
I will suggest you get a post paid, as they pre pay can actually cost more. The pre pay does not really give a free phone and it can get expensive. Plus you have to keep adding money to the account.
Consider both when you make this choice.

I ought to disagree with Princess. I genuinely have a Tracphone and it particularly works super for my purposes. I not often use my telephone and in maximum situations I never bypass over the minutes on their $20 enjoying cards with an hour of airtime and 3 months of provider. this suggests I land up paying approximately $8 in line with month for my cellular telephone! As to your uncle, if it says it comes with $40 of loose airtime then that's what he gets. while he makes use of up the airtime he will ought to purchase greater.
