having trouble with my 99 tahoe not starting and have changed the fuel pump and still had trouble then found that the new replaced fuel relay has gone bad. What would cause this to happen, as soon as we changed it the car had fuel pressure again and started right up. The is something from point A to point B that is causing this to happen. Any suggestions? The friend working on this has never seen one burn up.

Just luck of the draw.
If it goes out again, I'd be concerned.

There is an oil pressure switch also that deactivates the fuel pump relay in case of oil pressure loss.

Make sure you have oil, and maybe look into your oil pressure switch if you continue to have problems.

could have been a voltage spike, that could kill a relay if its too powerful. good idea to replace the pump though if the relay was bad too or else you'd have problems with that too down the road.
