You have to gauge your friend, this one is a little tricky. The ignore strategy sometimes works but it never worked with me. I knew the person I was calling the nickname was using that strategy so I continued even more. I usually continued until I was hit at which point it wasn't funny anymore so I stopped. When I was called a nickname (yes you give and you get, that's life) I would use the 'get a worse nickname for the idiot' strategy. This is usually easy if the guy is fat. Then I can call him 'Fatty Jub Jub'...:p Again, he you get hit but the nicknames usually stop. You need to be creative. If you want you can describe him on yahoo answers and we'll come up with a nickname. This whole situation can result in one of two solutions however, a very strong individual or someone in therapy. By the way, you nickname is totally cool! I wish I had a nickname like that...:-) I'm jealous.

LOL. It's nice to know there are other people out there that do this too. I have nicknames for everyone...they are funny though, not mean ones. Keeps my brain thinking when I'm at work. I deal in the casino's so when I am in BlackJack it can be pretty boring....

Well, I have a couple of nicknames for one of my coworkers both of which are known by other coworkers but kept from the little monster, himself.
1) Gnomestar Runner (because he sounds like Homestar Runner, an internet cartoon, and looks like a gnome.)
and
2) Fews Bagg (It's an anagram, but yahoo won't let me write what the letters stand for).

I don't work outside the home, but I have secret nicknames for almost everybody. For example, Squeaky Voice is sleeping with Big Nose, and Gas *** just broke up with Mustache Girl.

Of course!
I grew up in a family where the only purpose of a name or habit was to get a nickname attached to it!
Therefore our neighbors were: "The Good Ole Boys", "Nick-he-said" (a woman who incessantly quoted her husband) and "the non-mowers"....
We went to church with "The Laties" "The Messy Hair Family" and "the Pew Patrol."
My girls all have about 9 nicknames each...sometimes they remind us of phases in their lives....from "Squeak" to "Fluffy" to "Red" to "Schoolgirl" to "Slugger" etc.
Loooove nicknames. To us, it's a sign of affection...
(And can be wickedly funny, as in the case of your co-workers...)
And thanks to all the others who gave me a great chuckle on a Thursday morning!
