PCI bus speed (33.3mhz) is 1/2 of AGP speed(66.6mhz). AGP is just double pumped (2X), quad pumped(4x) or strobed eight times per clock (8X AGP). PCI bus was also 1/3 of the bus speed (100mhz) of old PCs like Pentium ll or lll that used PC100 SDRAM.
