i am so SICK of this question....
VOTE FOR YOUR FAVORITE! thats why she was voted off cuz either blake had more fans or melindas fans didnt vote enough.... jeez!

I think the producers set Melinda up to fail on Tuesday.
First off, the judges (and we all know they don't really do anything for themselves, so probably the producers here too) picked that Whitney Houston song for her to sing, and everyone knows (Simon has even said it on air THIS SEASON!) that you shouldn't try to out-Whitney Whitney. They should ban her catalogy from the show for that reason: no one can do it better, so any performance that tries seems like a failure no matter how strong the vocal actually is. They don't allow any Mariah Carey songs for a similar reason-- because they got sick of hearing horribly nasal renditions of "Hero," and I suspect, Sony didn't want to offer them the rights to the songs anyway.
Then the producers picked some oldie that none of the kids who actually vote for "American Idol" will know and therefore will be considered forgettable, even though I think Melinda rocked it. But then when it came to her own choice, she picked a song she had already performed this season, and repeating a song is not a good idea. There's a slim chance that performance will just bring up fond memories of the first one and people will vote for her because they remember how much they've loved her this whole time, but that's a long shot. Mostly it just makes us think she's stale and dated and unoriginal/unimaginative. There are millions of songs out there for her to choose from, and with her vocal range, she could have rocked any one, but instead she played it way too safe and picked something she was complimented on weeks ago.
I think there's solid evidence here that the producers want Blake and Jordin in the final two. I may be joining the conspiracy theorists and say that yes, "American Idol" is totally rigged! The best singer in the competition hasn't actually won the competition since season one with Kelly Clarkson! So if this is the case, and it comes down to the pretty boy and really talented chick (not unlike season one!), Jordin will (and most definitely should) take the title. I'm voting for her!

I know, but a lot of very young kids watch and vote, so they voted for thier little heartthrob. That's the way it goes. Simon always says that Melinda is in a different class and she is. She is for an older audience than the Idol audience and I am sure she will have an amazing career.

No I dont think so. Can you imagine, that is or would be major news, if it was, and do you believe for a second that the media wouldn't find out, if that was the case? Come on,,nothing is a secret in todays world, especially anything in the entertainment area. Every year when someones favorite gets sent out, the rumors start with the "Its fixed Syndrome". Come on and get over it already. Lets move on, because its getting old. Over and over and over every year, OMG!

I don't think it's fixed. I was surprised Melinda was sent home. I hope that Jordin wins next week. The look on Simon's face last night said it all. He looked totally surprised that Melinda ws sent packing. He predicted that Melinda would be in the final.

I think it is. This is my opinion but Simon was crabby all evening (he complained about being cold) but I truly believed he knew who was going to be voted off and he acted like that.
I only wish they would post the number of votes for each performer, this is what I want to see, but probably never will.

After last night, screw them. I hope everyone enjoys the final show, but I think I'll watch basketball or a dvd that night.

I don't think it's fixed. I think a lot of people just figured she was safe and didn't vote for her.

although I didn't want Melinda to leave either, but anywho.

After last nights fiasco I know it's fixed.Blake has no talent or voice.Melinda is one of the best the show has ever had.
