I'm glad that he's not my doctor as well. People in emotional pain don't need some pompous *** throwing folksy little sayings at their problems. My local network dropped his regular spot before his mentor Oprah, and I'm glad they did.

I think that Dr. Phil does have the capacity to help people.
However, his show is more about money, ratings, and entertainment than actually helping people.
He did a show on home-schooling where he set out to sabotage the home-schooling families. He used creative editing to only show the bad parts of a one families day (which wasn't much different than the bad parts of other families' days) to "show" how homeschooling was bad. He told the homeschooling parents invited to the audience not to bring anyone under age 18 with them, and then he stacked the audience with two school buses of teenagers from local schools. It's amazing how many people in the audience clapped when he asked if they thought regular school was better than homeschooling.
After realizing just how the show is put together, I haven't been able to watch it since.

I think the show started out, and he gave great advice. But as time progressed it became about ratings and drama. Of course there are still good shows, he is not as good a doctor as he used to be. He got too tangled up with t.v. and not about the people. Still an ok show tho.

Just another quack plagiarizing a dozen self-help books he didn't write and taking advantage of the insecurities and mental problems of poor and desperate people so he can make a buck. The guy can barely maintain his own personal relationships, and yet he has the answers to everyone else's problem? Yeah. Right.

Dr. Phill is fake as hell, all he is in it for is the money. He don't know nuttin, He has only made it this far because of the backin of Oprah. He tries to act like he is better than everyone, with his fake advice, when he probably goes home and yells at his wife for things like forgeting to place catsup on his triple cheeseburger.

I was all good with Dr. Phil and thought he did have some great advice, until he did the weight loss shows.
I am sorry, but Dr. Phil is not thin by any means and he was telling these others how to diet etc. that turned me off and his show off on my TV.

Overall, I like him. I think his answers usually have common sense and that he gives pretty good advice.
Sometimes he comes off as a little bit harsh, but, overall, I think he's pretty good.

i've watched him a couple of times. i'm not a fan. he seems to just be lecturing people and not helping them find a real solution to their problems. isn't that why these guests show up, for advice?

I think he is brutally honest; however, he is loud mouthed and very arrogant. I don't think he has any right telling these people what to do. He is fat and bald.
