She's talking about POSSIBLY writing more about Harry when he's out of Hogwarts... I doubt he'll die.

That is the $64,000 question, isn't it.? My belief is no.

First, I disagree with the idea that Harry is a horcrux. I won't go into the argument deeply, but it goes against the thrust fo chapter 23 in HBP, that suggests the Voldemort was going to use Harry's death to create the last horcrux.

My major reason for doubting that Harry will die is that these are children's/young adult books.

While authors of YA book occasionally kill off their protagonists, children's authors don't. There is enough children reading HP to make me think that is the last thing she'll do. The firestorm would be tremendous and it goes against what we know of her character as well.

Although a "major" character is destined to die in the final book, I seriously doubt it would be Harry.

The prophecy at the center of the conflict says that only one of the pair (Harry/Voldemort) can survive. If Harry dies, the message to young readers is that evil cannot be overcome, that good is weaker than bad, and that, contrary to Dumbledore's advice, "love" is not the most powerful form of magic.

My two predictions about the last book...

Harry himself is a "horcrux" carrying a bit of Voldemort's soul.

Hermione Granger will die.

I do think that he will but only after defeating Voldemort. Like, for example, while battling Voldemort for the final time and after defeating him, Harry will be too weak to continue on and end up dying or something. That's always been the outcome in my mind. I guess we'll have to wait for JKR to release the final book to find out.

HAPPY READING.

NO definitely not.Do not forget JKR is writing a 8th book for charity, explaining what happens after the ending of HP7.

I think he will. I know its a fantasy book, but come on, add a little edge of realism atleast. He survived a possessed teacher, a giant serpent, an army of dementors, the triwizard tournament, repeated encounters with voldemorte, death eaters, etc etc. the list goes on. he has to die in this one. But if he doesnt, I wouldnt mind reading what JK Rowling writes next. lol.

I doubt it. I think it will be Voldemort and possibly Snape. If Harry dies it shows that evil will triumph over good.

Well, she said how she may possibly kill him. Of course i can't imagine her doing that, because there was previous talk of him after school. But, i think there might be a death among some of his close friends.
