I had to laugh! A father put in for his 10 month old kid to get a gun permit - and got it! Must be a really tough neighborhood!

Although the dad did this mainly on a whim, I can see that this kid will not grow up to be a victim in the making like most other kids are. He will at least know how to use a gun and be able to protect himself and others with it. Whether or not he chooses to keep using it during his adult life, at least he can make a decision on it. I give kudos to his dad for doing it. The earlier you learn about the proper use of guns and weapons, the least likely you are to actually use them.

No one under 18 should be given a gun permit to purchase a weapon.

That being said, I believe that children who are mature and responsible enough to learn should be able to learn how to utilize a gun if they should need to.

My family are hunters. My brother started learning to use a gun at a young age, because he wanted to hunt. At 13, my brother would never leave a shotgun or rifle loaded or in the reach of a child.

I think no one under the age of 18 should be able to have a gun permit. Possibly even 21. If you can't drink before you are 21, why can you have a gun? That does not make any sense to me.

I think whoever is supposed to be doing checks on people before issuing permits should be investigated. There is no way this should have happened.

However, I agree with your sentiments about the anti-victim mentality, and the training on proper use of weapons. That is quite correct, in my opinion.

The earlier they learn about guns and gun safety, the better. I hate to see the anti-gun people that think that guns are evil objects and are only made for murder.

the toddler would not genuinely have possession of the gun - that is at his grandfather's domicile. the mothers and dads obeyed the letter of the regulation after the grandfather gave the toddler a shotgun as a modern-day. simply by fact the toddler "owns" the gun now he has to have a license. one among those ingredient may be a family members custom or something. i think of that could be a splash unusual yet i'm happy that they are obeying the regulation and that the gun is on the grandfather's domicile and not the place the toddler lives. that could be a case of in charge gun possession - the firearm is registered to its proprietor, whether the owner is merely not waiting to apply it for some years. i understand a lot of people won't be in a position to think of possessing a gun or maybe coping with one so this tale is particularly strange to them. I grew up out in the country and we consistently had weapons around - my aunt had 2 shotguns sitting precise beside the door at her farmhouse. i substitute into advised never to touch them as a youthful toddler and that i never did. The weapons have been merely in case one among their cattle had to be positioned down, in case people got here on the valuables to scouse borrow farm kit or cattle and to scare off any organic international threatening the cattle (loose canines, bears, coyotes, bobcats and mountain lions). i might never stay out in the country and not using a shotgun - that could be a brilliant weapon that makes lots of noise yet isn't possibly to kill your neighbor on twist of fate. to respond to your question with regard to the appropriateness of the entire ingredient - i don't discover it appropriate in any respect yet it is my opinion. i don't possibly like weapons yet do see the will of them specially situations like those listed above. I additionally understand that every physique who enters my domicile while i'm at domicile intends to break me and my family members and that i evaluate it my precise to take care of myself in my very own residence.
