It is not all left wing but sadly the BBC is and shouldn't be as it is supposed not to be biased. The BBC is run by Guardian reading Europhiles who probably thinks Cuba is a great democracy. I have read The Guardian a few times and came across the likes of Polly "commie "Toynbee and other Anti British metropolitan oddballs. The Daily Mail on the other hand might come across a bit harsh in its views but is great at standing up for family values and common sense and against absurd political correctness and bureaucracy and the outright treason of the surrender of British Sovereignty which is why the Chattering Classes of Islington can't stand it.

In a perfect world people would do their own research on both sides of any issue and be able to think and decide which stance on an issue is right or wrong for themselves. I am afraid those days are over. Depending on which side of the spectrum a person falls it is either a corrupting influence or enlightening experience. I'll stick with the definition of corrupting influence. *lol* It bothers me that such a high percentage of teachers and professors have turned away from teaching history to making history with their editorializing current events from their podiums. The youth and young adults are so easilly influenced. It is easier for them to take the information being handed to them as fact rather than to take the time or care enough to research the facts for themselves. We have left-wing leaning colleges and universities and we have right-wing leaning colleges and universities. I believe in many ways these establishments are doing much more harm than good. As a parent, I don't believe I should have to pay such a high tuition so that my son or daughter can be politically indoctrinated into one party or another. My money should be going toward earning them degrees not political leanings. It also bothers me that the same holds true for the News Media. I remember the days when the news organizations reported the news and didn't make the news. For some strange reason newscasters and newspaper publishers and editors elevated themselves to thinking we care how they feel about issues. They somehow believe that they need to guide how we think. Well, my mind works just fine and I can make decisions for myself. You give me the facts, just the facts in regards to the news and I'll decide for myself what to believe. Lastly forums like these. People take part in these forums and take what information they are handed as the truth. How often do you see mirror images of responses by two or more individuals. We constantly see misinformation passed off as fact simply because someone else said it, it sounds good to others and they make the facts seem true whether or not they are true. So... in a round about way you may not like my answer but my answer is Yes. It seems to me that the left-wing is far more guilty of negative or a corrupting influence. The right-wing isn't blameless in this but they are less likely to *use* their political beliefs to try and brainwash unsuspecting individuals.

It's amazing how you can think that. The top-selling national newspapers by a mile are The Sun, the Daily Mail, the Express, and the Telegraph, all of which are openly right-wing. The only major left-wing papers are the Daily Mirror, the Guardian, and the Independent, which added together have less circulation than the Sun alone.

well why not? We are under a left wing government, we TRY to be a polite society, of course some don't. There are right wing newspapers and political parties, but don't forget how awful this country was when ran by Thatcher and Mayjor. In 1997 when Labour won by a landslide people had parties to celebrate. It's a shame that Blair has left on a low point but let's not forget all the good he has done for this country.

Well - for a start, why equate "Politically Correct" with "left wing". Political correctness taken to its extreme is without doubt a philosophy designed to stifle freedom of speech and expression. An aim which is much more applicable to the right wing than the left, as your question clearly demonstrates.

I tend to think though, that what you are referring to as "politically correct" is actually "common decency", i.e. the treatment of individuals and groups with respect as human beings regardless of race, creed, colour or opinion. Unfortunately common decency is not a concept that most of the right wing press in this country is very familiar with.

The TV news media on the other hand go to great lengths to be seen as decent and fair in their coverage of the news, and quite rightly so. I'm not saying that they don't put their own subtle spin on things, because they certainly do, but they at least try to strike a balance in the points of view that they broadcast. If you think that is a bad thing, then you are obviously one of those right wingers who can't stand the fact that others disagree with them and wish to stifle the voices of those who do.

The British media is biased towards the right wing. Including most newspapers, channel 4 and the BBC.

Not sure what planet your living on, but you almost sound like as much of a loony as me.

The Ghost of Neville Chamberlain still haunts the British media.

It isn't, it is 'media winged' ie; it is interested only in its own ends and ability to manipulate the public into being in a perpetual state of unease and hungry for the next sensational and extraordinary story or 'celeb' news without any thought of the consequences of the harm they cause.
