What the heck happened last night? Melinda is by far the best singer. Is it because she doesn't look the part? I know that Jordan is also very good but Blake? OH well I wish her well and can't wait to see what happens next week. Just wanted your thoughts on Melinda leaving. Thanks

The reason Melinda went home is because she has no Teenage appeal. The majority of the voters for this show are teenager girls with cell phones. These two finalists are the two that america's teenagers wanted. The final is Blake's to lose. His appeal to the teenage girl is what will seal the deal for him.

I Really Thought she was gonna win. When Ryan was telling Blake and Melinda whick of them was going home, when he said "Melinda.......this is the end of the road for you." Everyone who was at my house was like omg I totally thought Blake was getting voted off. I mean I think Blake is really really really really good too, but not as good as Melinda. Outa Jordin and Blake, I don't know whoz gonna win, they are both sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo EXTREMELY GREAT!!!!!!!! I can't pick!!!!!!!!!!!

Ugh, I totally agree with you. I think Melinda is far better than Blake. I did notice the receptions the contestants got when they went home - Jordin's and Blake's seemed like a great party, while Melinda's seemed almost somber. I guess it IS all in the voting fans.

I agree that Melinda was the best. Look at past seasons though. The winner doesn't always make the biggest splash in the music industry, its usually 2nd or 3rd that get the radio play. That is because this show is not a real judge of talent. 13 year old girls don't appreciate melinda, but they love blake. He can be a poster on their wall. But in all honesty I don't like Jordin much either. She is boring. Finally, Melinda should have won, but Blake should win now.

I dunno, i think the american idol thing is more than just voice. It's about the total package, the overall charisma, the originality. Melinda had an amazing voice, but did she bring anything new to the table? She reminded me of aretha, but how many aretha's does one need???
I know there's a lot of Blake haters out there, but the thing is, he could sing, and he could beat box AND rarely did he sound like he was doing an impression of the original singer. Hate to sound like the goofy judges, but he made those songs his own. That's why he's still in.
I think sometimes people forget that they are trying to create POP stars from this show. Blake will be a pop star and so will Jordin...Melinda, will be a soul singer, maybe another Fantasia. And Pop stars are loved by the teenagers and college kids. The 2 remaining contestants reflect that.

Yeah melinda is better than Blake but Im not a big fan of melinda. Blake will probably go home next and JORDIN will win . I have been voting for her since the beginning. GO JORDIN SPARKS.

Uh... this stopped being a singing competition after season 2. Now it's a competition to see how many pathetic, celebrity worshipping teenagers you can get to call up and vote for you... Melinda never stood a chance under those rules.
