I'd have my dream girl.

This is a sore point, so thanks very much for reminding me!

Grrr

If I had known then, what I know now, I could not have known exactly what I know now; I would have known more, less, or somewhat differently about all things and events in my life unfolding. This is a conundrum, a complete cycle. The likes of one we come across when thinking about travelling through time. For the sack of entertainment of the thought, however, lets keep the question alive, imagine a little and wonder bit, what it? Lets try to imagine an alternative history of myself.

And what could that alternative history of myself be? What would I have done if, for example, I had known what I know now? If I had known that I am going to be me, as I am now, ten years ago? I could say that I might have had a heart attack on the spot if I had known that I would still be toiling about doing the same things everyday years at the end, ‘sweating and grunting under a weary life’, but another fact is that if had known then what I know now I might not have stayed alive anyway. My half-understood knowledge has tried to kill me many times already. And I cannot remember how many times I have been saved by my simple and honest ignorance when all that I had known failed.

What good could come to me with accurate knowledge, without understanding?

- Learn from your past, it is your present,
- Know less and understand more, for knowledge is responsibility and understanding facility,
- Listen to many but speak to few, for few are the wise.
- Live long and prosper!

If I could live my life over again I would go through the same and do the same things over as even the bad experiences I have gone through have made me the person I am today and because I have been through so much I thing that helps me to help others and to know sharing one experience has the opportunity to save many people from faling into the same traps is a special gift that only some can give. I think we have to go through bad times in order to appreciate the good, to feel hate in order to respect love. So in short I would not change a single thing.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing isn't it?!

We would all do some things differently in our lives - despite what some people say......but I think making mistakes [providing that they are not that serious] is a good thing as it makes us stronger and also makes us appreciate when things are going well...

Although it sounds great...I wonder how good life would be if everything always went our way and we always made the right decisions...I guess some people like the easy life and comfort zone and some people like the challenge of the unexpected and the excitement of what might be.

Very different. I'd still have grown up dirt poor, but wouldn't have made the mistakes I made. I wouldn't have almost died the several times I almost died. I wouldn't have gotten pregnant when I did. I would have been so much smarter and done better in school.

We like to think that if we knew then what we know now, our lives would have been better. I'm not so sure about that. Different or better? My life would have been different, but not necessarily better.

If I knew then what I know now: I would not have given my ex the time of day when I met him. Perhaps I would have my son with another man but I believe that my life would be so much better and stress free without my ex distroying my childeren's and my life constantly. I would definately be a happier person.

There would probably be subtle changes that I'd make. But all in all I'd keep things as close to what they are now. I love my husband, I love my children. We probably wouldn't have bought that gas sucking car a couple of years ago. And we probably would have purchased a different house, since this one is a beast and has so much work that needs to be done to it. But as far as the people in my life go, I'd keep it all the same.

I probably wouldn't have dated the wrong men and certainly wouldn't have started smoking when I was 16. It was so hard trying to quit!
I wouldn't have been so naive either....
But we can all say these things, the point is to learn from what we do otherwise life would be rather boring, if every time we did something we regret or didn't do and could correct it then what would be the point in existing at all..enter the matrix!

People would look at me like a genius! I think I would have avoided a lot more problems. I would have avoided my heart being broken. I'd not do some of the most stupid things I've done in the past. When I think back to what I did then...I lmao

Don't know that I would change anything about the way my life has been going or, for that matter, the direction that it's headed. Life is good even when it's not so great.

It wouldn have been totally different. I would not have taken up one particular job and be miserable for a number of years! I would have volunteered with VSO much earlier! Currently a VSO volunteer,
