Statutory redundancy pay is pretty pathetic. It works out at your weekly salary, to a max of £310, multiplied by the number of full years you've worked there. A multiplier is then applied depending on how old you are:
up to 22: 0.5
22-40: 1
41+: 1.5

So if you've been there 4 years and you're 25 years old and you earn £300/week, you would get:
300x4x0.5 = £600. Which isn't very much.

Luckily a lot of companies will give you something more than the statutory minimum, however this will depend on their own policy. You should ask your human resources dept for details.

Plus, if they make you redundant, you are entitled to pay in lieu of notice - if your contract says you are on one month's notice to quit, they have to pay you that.

You're only legally entitled to statutory pay which is not a lot at all, however it all depends on your company and their ethics. I was made redundant from a place I'd only worked for 2 years and I got 2 months untaxed pay as well as the statutory pay. Check your contract. There might be something in there.

A day off maybe? Minimum would 1 week pay for every year of service plus acrued holiday pay. Assuming you are in the UK. I think you may also be entitled to time off to look for another job. Sounds like agreat place to work

it would depend on your situation whether you have kids or a wife/girlfriend if your single the dole is the most likely option or if you have a family and a morgage then you will get help to pay for it, you could get income support, child benefit, child tax credit, council tax benefit and housing benefit there is alot of help really, i get benefits because i care for my mum and i get my rent and council tax paid and take £210 cash a week for me my bf and 2 kids, i hope that helps
