If I think I am 6 days along, Can I take one before I'm supposed to start my period? If so, will it show up positive that way?

Most tests are only accurate if used when your period is due. A couple of them claim they can detect pregnancy up to 3 days before period is due, but almost never will they work before that.

Some tests you can do before your period (five days before).
I think about two weeks along, then you can trust the result a little more. Home pregnancy tests arn't as reliable as such.
The best bet you have for a trustworthy answer is to have a test done at the doctors, then you can know the truth by what the doctor tells you. Good luck and congratulations.

You need to be at least 10 days pregnant for a test to show up as positive and even then sometimes there isn't enough HCG to show up. You will just have to wait awhile, even for a blood test.

If you're pregnant and have enough hcg then the test will show up. Best to wait until your missed period, but thats easier said than done when you're trying to concieve.

at the earliest the tests detect the first day after a Missed period. good luck!

They have one that you can take before you start your period.Can't remember the name though.I would wait though till you miss a period.

i'd rather get a blood work done but than again they a have those urine test where its suppose to tell u on ur missed period.. its up to mama.. Good Luck

wait till at least the first day your period is due a bit longer if you can stand it.
