I don't read the guardian, but i get your point . no one race is either all good or all bad. Though after reading other news media titles one could get the impression that all Afro Caribbean types are gun toting gangster bad boys yardi types!.. or drug smuggling mules..
Perhaps we all should take whats written in the media with a pinch of salt and accept that there are good and bad in every race ,

No I do not agree at all. The Afro-Caribbeans are made come mainly from Pirate stock and Slave stock. These are the same people who took on the Royal Navy and the British Army and won.
Are Afro-Caribbeans cultured? Yes.
Are Afro-Caribbeans intelligent? Yes.
and all the other attributes as well.
How do I know? Because I've spent the last 10 years of my life working with Afro-Caribbeans. Having spent much of my life in complete ignorance but having the attitude from WW2 that the Kings of Africa [black American soldiers] were going to kill all the Nazis - I have never disliked black people and on the contrary have always seen them as somehow put upon yet heroic.
I confess to knowing damn all about Afro-Caribbean culture. My excuse is that I am a Celt with my brain stuck in another time warp somewhere whizzing around, full of doubts and uncertainties but knowing one thing for sure, that all men are equal. It's written down somewhere in a diary or some such.
I have not read the Guardian, that disreputable rag, since it stopped being the influential MANCHESTER GUARDIAN when it was a Liberal Broadsheet of the clever and kindly sort.

There are of course, any number of people of all races, ethnicities, etc.who would fall under the categories you have given. And yes, I read The Guardian but I fail to see the analogy between the two questions.
I would imagine that you are "Afro-Caribbean" and that perhaps you need a little confidence builder. However, when a person needs a -hyphen- in order to validate him or herself, it is reason to pause....
(btw, we are all of mixed blood to some extent. But more importantly, we are all human beings. Keep that in mind.)

If so, what has been their contribution to world civilization or even to the progress of their own impoverished countries? They leave their countries in droves to settle in other peoples' countries and abandon their own homelands to the mercy of thugs and bandids. Is that what intelligence is all about?

People are rightly judged by the success or otherwise of their homeland. Tough fact but true.
