For the past 2 months my period has been too light. I am not pregnant. I took a test 2 days ago & didn't think I was anyway. I have no idea why this is happening? Any ideas? I am going to get ultrasound next week & have my annual as well. I guess I'll find out next week possibly but in the meantime any ideas?

The truth is, that it can be totally normal and nothing to worry about. Our periods are not a perfect event. Sometimes they come on time, sometimes they skip, sometimes they are heavy, sometimes almost non-existent, etc. Often the changes are due to a fluctuation in our hormones.

Age also plays a role...when you are young (teenage), periods can be really strange from one month to the next and when you get into your 40s, they can act up as you approach menopause.

Also, our periods are influenced by stress, weight changes, hormonal changes, exercise, etc.

The important thing is that you are having it checked out but try not to worry as odds are high that this will simply be due to hormonal issues. Good luck!
