we just put a new fuel filter and fuel pump on it. it will start and run for about 15 minutes then it will die. it will start back up after a few minutes. it doesnt make a noise before it dies. it just stops. what could be the problem? i'm afraid i will be taking my grand children to school and it will stop on me in the middle of the road. when you drive it runs good for a while.

unfortunatly i would need to see the car when it quit
you can listen for he pump working turn the ignition on it will come on for 1 to 3 seconds
you will need to test spark when its dead
fuel injector pulse etc
the common things are ignition modules or crank sensors
not the pump could also be a relay ot ignition switch

lots to check thats why i would need to check it when its dead as you will never find the problem when its running

Have you let it run low on fuel recently? This allows all the crap in the bottom of tank to get sucked into pipe leading to pump. Given the age of your car, it could be that the pipe from the fuel tank is partially blocked with sediment which would reduce the amount of fuel getting to the pump. Could be enough getting through to run for a short time only. Not an easy fix but you may be able to attach an airline to the end which attaches to pump, and blow dirt back into tank.Always best to keep your tank topped up.

Pinched line? Is the fuel filter installed with the proper flow direction? Something is restricting the fuel flow. Find that and your problem is solved.

Note: this car doesn't have an oil pressure switch to disable the fuel system.

It may e one of several things. I would have the fuel pressure regulator checked. If the fuel rack isn't getting the proper pressure, it could cause poor performance and stalling.

Also, it may be split or broken vacuum hoses causing this. Does it run rough just before it stalls. It only happens at stops, not constant driving?

I'd check both of those out. Good luck...

the other person could be right,it could be a pinched fuel line, especially those rubber lines, also it could be a bad fuel pump regulator.have someone run a test on the fuel pump, for pressure and volume, even though you put a new pump on it,it still might have a bad fuel pump regulator.
