Please help. I have a 97 Cadillac and the automatic trunk closure will not stop running. I've reset the switch twice but it still is running. Does anyone know how to disable this?

When the motor is pulled all the way down, trunk open, unplug the electrical connector on the backside of the closure motor. The trunk will still open and close, just without the motor to pull it down.

rat is rite but to do it first find the wire get familiar on how to disconnect it get 2 people climb in the trunk with a flashlight (just 1 of you) close trunk when shut unplug the wire have friend open trunk and your done

use a friend you can trust as locking someone in a trunk is not a funny prank

or just re adjust the latch so it turns off like it is supposed to
