Ok, Please completely disregard the number 14 from your vocabulary when it comes to ovulation. This is NOT true at all, and it is based on an unreliable method called the calendar method or the rhythm method. Please do yourself a favor and buy the book taking charge of your fertility by toni weschler. It will tell you how to interpret when you as an individual ovulate. A very very few women ovulate on day 14 before or after their period, but most women do not. I know a girl that ovulates 2 days after her period ends, my mom ovulates on cycle day 26. It is different for every women. The only thing that is indeed predictable is the luteal phase. This is the time from ovulation until your next cycle day. So if you ovulate on day 12 for example, and its 11 more days until your next period, you can always now that your period will be here 11 days from your ovulation date (give or take a day or two). The only way to know for sure is to chart your bbt and use ovulation tests. Good luck and please read this book...it WILL really help you.

Ovulation happens 10-16 days, with 14 being average, before the start of your next period. So, you ovulated on day 18, then your period should come 10-16 days later or anywhere from day 29-35.

No. But every woman does ovulate 14 days before their period. This continues until menopause. If a woman has a regular cycle of 35 days (could be normal for her) then she will ovulate about day 21. This is one of the reasons why it is important to keep a temp chart for at least a few months. Ovulation is also indicated by a rise in basal body temp .05 -1 degree C.

No, every woman ovulates near the middle of her cycle. Sometimes outside influences can cause you to have a longer cycle such as stress, or extra exercise.
If you want to become pregnant, have sex every other day regardless of what cycle day you think you are on... even when you are on your period. SOME, not many, women ovulate soon after their period. That way, the sperm can still be alive when ovulation happens.

A womens time of ovulation can very from time to time but the luteal phase (time between Ovulation and Period) should always be between 12-14 days.

They do not always ovulate teh same day in regards to their LAST period, but in regards to the NEXT one. The luteal phase of a woman's cycle (from ovulation to menstruation) will always be the same number of days. However, the follicular phase (from menstruation to ovulation) can vary greatly.
