I am 29 and I'm not on birth control. My doctor says I'm lying or I just forgot about them. Also when I was younger they used to be extremely heavy and painful.

Two years ago I only had like 2 or three periods in a two year time frame. I finally went to the Dr. and after being examined and having blood work done, I found out I have polycystic ovarian syndrome(PCOS). And it causes all of your hormones to get out of whack, so there are many things it could be so don't freak out. But definitely see a Dr. because if you don't have a normal cycle for too long, it will increase your risk for endometrial cancer because you need to shed your lining. The doctor will probably give you Provera which is a hormone that will cause you period to begin two to ten days after the last pill is taken. CALL YOUR GYNO!

No its not normal!! Depends on ur age though. If u r old then yeh u might be going through menopause. If ur not pls make an appt n go n c a doctor. U dont want problems in the future concieving a child because of it. Get it sorted now so they have time to discover the problem, remember its a slow process expecially if u only having 2 periods a yr.

not really no its not, if you have been getting your period for a few years then i say go to the doctor and have a chat with them.

are you on any long term birth control, such as inplanon or something that is progesterone based as that can cause your periods to do this, if not it definitely needs investigating

I would say NO.

What does your OB GYN say about that??

You have seen one, haven't you?

This could effect your ability to have children in the future.

Extremely thin girls have this problem, also anorexics and athletes.
