It's pretty typical for American Idol, don't you think? Talent is just a small part of the selection process.. it has much more to do with developing a hysterical fan base.. and both Jordin and Blake have managed to do that.

Melinda is far more talented, but because she appeals to an older audience, she is getting fewer of the 'hysterical-teeny' votes. I think the hometown crowds for the back home visits really said it all.

It's too bad, but honestly she may be happier being able to cut her own record deal without the limitations of American Idol. So this may work out in her favor.

lol, yeah that definitely was the shock vote of the season. But look at it this way....after the Idol tour she will be free to sign with who she wants and record what she wants. I like Blake and I think he's a good entertainer but I thought Melinda was going to be the winner.

Melinda is comparable to Blake. They are different kinds of talents. Blake offers an innovative perspective in music and is contemporary. Traditional Melinda has far more experience than any of them but counts for nothing in a popularity contest. The fact she was a professional backup singer might have had something to do with her leaving. This contest is NOT for professionals. Otherwise Britney could use it to make her *God Awful* comeback.

Jordin is the problem. She's 17, inexperienced and OUT OF HER LEAGUE. I have no idea why on earth she was not sent home.

regrettably i think of he would be voted off. i'd quite see him and Jordin pass into the finals. Melinda has already made a expert course for herself by technique of making a track backup for some expert singers. i think of anybody would be shocked nonetheless, because of the fact i think of Jordin will win. Edit, after consequences practice: So happy to work out that it quite is Blake and Jordin going into the finals!!! be constructive you vote vote vote for Blake!!!!!

No doubt Melinda has the strongest vocals. But she sings in the same style week after week after week whereas Blake is interesting, versatile and has originality and great showmanship.

Blake sucks he shouldn't have made it to the top ten. Every song he sings sounds exactly the same. I thought he was trying to be differet. PLus all his songs are up tempo and he tries to dance to them but he only has one dance move and it isn't a good one.
Jodin is gonna win.

I totally agree with you! I think people thought she was safe and didn't vote she was definitely the best singer.
And Blake is a Justin Timberlake Wannabe.
