Even though I like Steve Nash, Dirk does deserve the MVP award. First of all, the mvp award is for the regular season. The Mavericks had the best record this year and at 67-15, it appears this is the Mavericks best overall record ever. Dirk averaged 24.6 points a game this regular season. He averaged 8.9 rebounds per game. He shot 50% from the field, 41% from 3 point land, and 90% from the freethrow line.

As for the post season, well, it is quite simple. I feel that the Mavericks should have posted Dirk in the low post and as a team stop settling for the jumpshots. It is not regular season anymore and the playoffs is a different animal. High percentage shots are critical.

Its no longer an overvalued award yet I dont imagine that the criteria for the MVP is honest. The MVP in actuality is the perfect participant on an elite crew...yet what if u are a good participant on a crappy crew? I propose Steve Nash is an awsome participant yet i do no longer imagine he deserved both those MVPs. at the same time as Nash gained both one in each of his MVPs Kobe became indivisually the perfect participant that 3 hundred and sixty 5 days at the same time as Kobe gained the MVP Lebron became indivisually the perfect participant that 3 hundred and sixty 5 days at the same time as Lebron gained the MVP Wade became indivisually the perfect participant that 3 hundred and sixty 5 days To be thoroughly elementary that's devoid of doubt one in each of the purely 3 hundred and sixty 5 days in which the MVP became exceeded out for that reason fairly reason I propose this 3 hundred and sixty 5 days Lebron became undoubably the perfect. I propose the MVP now and again feels like a organic crew accomplishments. at the same time as Kobe gained it the purely reason Chris Paul didnt get it truly is reason the Lakers had one better win? also at the same time as Duncan were given the MVP once Kidd rather shoulda were given it....

Dirk Nowitzki is big wuss ! He had a guy guarding him in the Golden St series who was at least 5-7 inches shorter and yet Dirk settled for jumpers. When you're 7 foot tall with a 6-5 guy guarding you, you immediately run to the low block and post him up. Dirk has a history of playing extremely well during the regular season and then disappearing during the playoffs.

He doesn't seem to want the role of leader thrust upon his shoulders. He's Dalas' best player and he should play like it during crunch time. Tim Duncan doesn't disappear during crunch time !

MVP is based on the regular season. 82 wins for the Mavs. Dirk totally deserves the award. Post-Season is just a reward for players.

Honestly my answer wont be too popular. The NBA put in this zone defense, that I hate, to equal out the difference between white and black players. Dirk got game, Nash is the more rounded player. man2man defense Dirk would not stand a chance, Nash would be one of the tops, but the best players, Wade, La Bron, Kobe, Garnett, Kid come on Dirk ain't that damn good, numbers don't lie.

helooooo victoria's secret angel!...that's sucks!

i think nash deserves the mvp award.

if you look at the season stats....yeah dirk had an improvement, but does dallas really need dirk in order to win a game? of course not. dallas is a strong team on its own.

and if you guys are just looking at stats....it would obviously steve nash, who has improved his stats this season, or kobe, because of his scoring spree

anyway MR.D LOVE.....lebron is exisitng, but who the hell is la bron???

lebron is overrated!

Yea, definately!
#1.The Golden State series was not in the regulare season.
#2. Nash didn't even deserve it last year. Dirk should be getting his 2nd one in a row.

heck no look at the mavs last year they were second or first in the west last year and now they are first this year big whoop that isnt a big jump. also MVP should be an all around player and in my opinion it should have been carlos boozer because look at his team and how far he led them this year or even Dwight Howard how many players do u kno that can score 20 pts and also 20 rebs or close to 20 rebs on a regular basis NO ONE.
