I actually prefer Elflaeda to Elaine, I suppose that's because I've had the latter for 41 years but even that's not my original name. My REAL real name is Margaret, that's the only thing I was known as for the first three months of life.
Margaret Elaizabeth
Then it became
Margaret Elizabeth Elaine
but to all intents and purposes it's
Elaine Margaret Elizabeth.
Nothing's straightforward about me, not even my name.

Delete it!! This is what is called the "Nigerian Scam" and is a method of taking you to the cleaners. If you become involved you will be asked to set up a bank account with some money in it to get the "business" under way and then surprise surprise you suddenly find it has been cleaned out. They will probably also ask you for help with travel costs as well just to get more cash out of you. Don't get taken, in the thought of easy money is the best bait in the world.

That is fun I have a friend that I told abot Q/A so she
joined . We correspond through here .The bad part was
I was at her apt. one afternoon and when I got there she
was logged on Q/A on her computer . she left her
computer on and was in the kitchen talking to her mother
on her cell phone . In a devilish moment I bring up my home page and e-mailed a steamy e-mail to a "friend" that I was
pursuing on here, never dreaming it was being sent under
her name . Damn.. I was on my own page thats how I got
the other party , But anyhow she calls me later and reads my e-mail to me.. The woman responded to the e-mail. I have
been in deep do do ever since . I really was only playing..

Sounds like an identity crisis coming on....better pull up your boot straps and settle in...take some time just repeating your real name,,,,,look in the mirror.....keep your name on a postie slip by computer. Good luck!

I tend not to be called by my real name in emails either, or at home, i think my family has forgotten my real name. i do get called it at work tho, and sometimes it can be quite nice (once the boss has gone thru everyone elses name to get to mine, that is!)

It is quite lovely...but the funny thing is, some people who know my real name continue to call me 'Syd' or 'Sydney' even on the IM or in messages.
