If you could have any book/comic/legend/tv series turned into a movie what would it be and what actors/director would you choose? Or would you want an original story of your own made into a movie?

Every time I read a good book, I wish it would be made into a movie.
Then I slap myself and get over it. It's so rare as to be almost non-existent for a good movie to come out of a book.
So often I've been to movies based on books and they're so bad they almost kill my enjoyment of the book! The internal movie I've made is overshadowed by the bad casting and acting I saw on the screen.
But I never learn. I'm a huge fan of the Sookie Stackhouse books (by Charlaine Harris) and I'm just dying to see the series HBO is doing based on them, "True Blood." I'm willing to bet it's going to suck with teeth, but I still want to see it!

Would love to see the TV animation series GARGOYLES make a screen transfer with Alex Proyas/Bryan Singer at helm, and David S. Goyer as screenplaywright. Ron Perlman would be cool as the brooding leader of the pack, that come alive only at night.

Remake of Clive Cussler's book "Raise the Titanic". Since it was a Dirk Pitt novel, I'd use the same cast, etc. as in the movie "Sahara", another Dirk Pitt novel made into a movie.
