Humans need to be satisfied with whatever they have. The want of More & more is all materialistic. They should realise that this is not the only purpose of life. Yes there is no harm in gaining more as long as it is done in the righteous way. Then learn to share what you have with the more needy ones. What we should strive for is to gain more and more spiritual upliftment. As it is not the material wealth that we will carry with us in the after life but the spritual wealth.
Remember ti saying "I was crying as I had no shoes to wear, until I saw a man with no feet". Moral, is to be satisfied with what you have and you will be very happy and contented.

Man is the most dangerous animal the God has created. He has 'wants' beyond his needs, desires and necessities. He longs for the heaven and never be happy with what he has. So he is always behind some need and strives for that. No other animal is like that. They get satisfied if they and their off springs get food and shelter.
We are different we make money beyond the wildest dreams, eat like pigs and save for another ten generations. never bother about others whether men or animals, spoil the nature and going towards the doomsday.

It's the other way round. Selfishness makes us want more and more, thus being unsatisfied with life. Tame this dog of selfishness within you, and you would be feeling better.

All the best...

as a normal human being you are never satisfied with what you have. We are crave for more, more, more and as such we feel that we have not got what we want. We should compare ourselves to those less fortunate than us and only then we will realise that we have much more than those less fortunate ones. Only when we try to compare ourselves to those much, much more fortunate, we feel we should have more and are not satisfied with what we have. This is human nature and if this does not happen you will not strive to achive, and every thing would become stagnent. This is how life progresses.

To be satisfied with what we have is to let go of wanting. The Eastern philosophies would consider this as a greed for something.

Sometimes this is based on a false construction or belief of what we think we need.

When we have what we need, satisfaction or contentment surface.

The external world can never gives us satisfaction. Desires are satisfied only for deserving people. Yes, selfishness is the main cause.

God has made sure that nobody is perfect and nobody has a perfect life. Everybody is running towards getting something or the other, for getting that, he comes across success and faliure. This success and faliures teach us life.
Man cannot become wiser unless he has ambition to do something and in this process he comes across success and faliures. So I dont believe we are becoming selfish, I believe that we are playing our role in life for which we are here.

man is on a constant quest to get to perfection. think of all those people who are just happy with what they have. they lead normal lives, they have children, they have bills and payments, and they have careers to fulfill them. this is what makes them happy. but think of all the other people out there who strive for what they want. at first, it is with good intention that they go out into the big bad world with. but as they get what they want, they begin to think that its all right somehow to work people to the bone and they reap all the rewards! well, those people are all good people gone bad...
sorry, you've got me going. picked at a nerve there
