black things look black because they absorb all the light that falls on them.every colour, that is, every wavelength of light is absorbed.
now light is electromagnetic radiation. light as such doesnt cause heating(except in lasers), but other parts of the spectrum like microwaves, can.
now a perfect black body absorbs even these radiations to the best extent.
thats why blck bodies absorb more than other colours...because other colours reflect some of it.

black absorbs mild what transfers to warmth. White reflects the suns mild and black absorbs the mild from the solar. it is as a results of colours and how the suns mild reflects it.

Because black reflects less of the light - and our eyes see the surface as lighter as bigger the reflection is in proportion.
