Corollary to P T Barnum's "You can fool some of the people some of the time, but not all of the people all of the time" is you can get all the people to keep a secret for awhile, but only some of the people would keep a secret forever. In other words, if there were truly alien artifacts in possession of any government personnel/agency, the someone at some time eventually would have told the rest of the world.

Well in order for then to admit the truth they first need to admit they lied to everyone and if there is one thing i know about the government is that they wouldn't dare admit they truth because it would only further damages there credibility with the people they pretend to care about.
