I think 300 is not even close to Scarface, the gut-busting remake of Howard Hawks' 1932 gangster melodrama, Scarface sets out to disgust, sicken and horrify the audience with a rampage of violence, bloodshed and carnage. It accomplishes this beyond debate. Chicago is now Miami, beer is now cocaine, and Tony Camonte, the Italian hood, is now Tony Montana, a sleazebag Cuban refugee who floats in with the other 125,000 "Marielitos" who poured into Florida in May 1980 when Castro turned his slaves free. Just look at the scene of when this greasy hustler is making cocaine transactions while his best friend gets chained to a motel shower rod and has his arms and legs buzzed off with a chainsaw while the blood splashes all over Pacino's face and the bathroom wallpaper!.. More violence than that it's impossible to find in today's movies..☺

It may have been one of the neighbors, when the boys discovered the bodies in the beginning of the movie, they dropped their bikes and probably ran to get help.

Depends on what kind of violence. 300 has the stylish slo-mo matrix type violence...and any of the recent Zombie flicks have plenty of blood and guts....while movies like Hostel & Saw are both disturbing to the eyes and the mind.

Let's see, Kill Bill is supposedly violent but it made me laugh, Feast was not so bad, also kinda comic, Old Boy (korean movie) is extremely violent, gotta watch it if you haven't.

Probably 'I Spit on Your Grave' - more about violence and rape than plot really. The Hills Have Eyes, Natural Born Killers, True Romance - all films designed to shock.
