of course i would take a man with earrings to church! why should it matter how he looks or what he wears? God doesnt look at the outside He looks at the heart. if your family member wants to go to church then you have no right in stopping him!
i hate it when ppl who are supposed to be christian reject those who dont look like they do! it angers me that ppl like you are keeping other ppl from learning about God because they dont fit in a certain way! IF you know your bible then you know Jesus never turned away the ones who were different...He LOOKED for those kind of ppl because he loved them!
ppl need to stop acting like christians and start acting more like Christ!
Jesus loves all of us freaks!

What? This is stupid.
Who cares what the guy wears, and who cares if he is gay.
I'm sorry, but some people of faith worry about the stupidest ****. Does this even matter? He's wearing an earing and you actually come here to question the GLBT community if this is too "gay" for church?
Get your priorities straight. I know plenty of Christian people who have welcomed me into their lives with open arms knowing full well that I am gay. They have learned a lot from me and I have enlightened them just as much as they have enlightened me.
Stop worrying about silly rules and how people think of you and start accepting and loving others for who they are. This type of Christianity is poison. Much more so than homosexuality is.
Acceptance. Not tolerance. Acceptance.
Please learn to love one another. Its what Jesus would have wanted. Stop worrying about the small stuff.

Remember when you were little and your mother told you that friends who made fun of you for some reason probably weren't your friends?
He's your family. They should realize that you can't control who is born into your family and family means being welcoming to all. Whether or not he is gay (earrings don't equal gay these days), they should be happy that you are trying to fill his heart with God. Or whatever.
If the earring really bothers you that much, you can ask him to take it off for church. I would ask more in terms of it not being conservative dress than in terms of the gay (that is a bit offensive, especially if he's not). If he's reasonable, he'll understand. He may not like it, and he may not do it, but you can ask politely and see what happens.

Where have you been all this time? In the Amish community. Earrings or studs are worn by straight men to.Even if he is gay why should that matter?I thought religious families would have more compassion for people. Or are they different in your religion?

All men must have shaven heads, no jewelry of any kind, do only physical labor and provide 100% of the income for the family. Women should wear dresses and long hair at all times, speak only when spoken to, and have no outside responsibilites that take them away from preparing food and keeping watch on the children. We must shun individuality, expressivity, and punish any desire to resist the status quo. It is our firm desire to rigidly uphold tradtion by enforcing that men be as stereotypically manly as possible and women be stereotypical women. God does not want His creation to progress or evolve at all. I am a robot and my program is telling me I must return to central reprogramming database known as C.H.U.R.C.H. at this hour.

So somewhere in the bible it says that men with earrings are gay, and that gays are banned from church?
You're not a very good Christian if you're full of so much prejudice.
Shame on you.

what matter does it make if he wears earings or not..
or is the fact that he is GAY that actually bothers you??
either way you suck as family!
the fact that he wears earings has got nothing to do with you ar any memeber of your church..
the fact that he is gay has got nothing to do with you or the members of your church...
you are forgetting that God accepts and love each one of us the same no matter our appearnce or preference..
if there is anything that your cousin may be doing that is to God's disappointment or scorn, its GOD that will deal with him, NOT you or you church...
I get so angry and upset at people that go to church but then do not listen to the teaching of your dearest Lord when there!
Let me ask you one question, do you go to church to fill your hart with God's word OR
do you go to BUY FACE?????
ps another misconception of earings, wearing them isnt restricted to gay men anymore!

One of the purposes of going to church is to be corrected. Without the solid foundation which was Gods instructional manual the Bible, we would be lost. Committing sexual immorality is wrong, but unless they experience the spiritual transformation that happens inside, as the believers do that seek God they can go into the opposite direction.

Is that member you refer to, gay? If you have so many apprehensions about it, he should be better off not staying with you, for obviously, it will be more of a problem to him than to you.
You come across as more fanatic than religious.
