Well, Helen, I would have been into work on time but a seagull landed on my head and pooped all over my uniform. I had to go back home, you can't work with seagull poop on you.

I started to iron another one but I'm sure I've told you that the handle has been getting very hot lately, well, it got that hot that I burnt my hand and had to go down the hospital. I'd just got off the bus in Chester Road when a car came screaming past St. Gabriel's and almost bashed into this young girl who was wheeling her bairn in the buggy.

I didn't think, I just pushed them out of the way and there was a bit of a hoo ha, well, I'll be in the Echo tomorrow because there was a photographer there - for whatever reason. It turns out that the girl is the mayor's daughter and only child and after he heard, he wanted to meet me, so after I got my burnt hand seen to, they sent a car and I went to his chambers at the Civic Centre where I had lunch with the mayor and his family.

I did tell them that I was due at work but he told me I couldn't possibly work with a hand like that and he would get his secretary to fax you to let you know that I wouldn't be in. However, I KNEW that you'd be short handed if I didn't come in, at least I can watch the lounge if I can't do anything else because of my hand. He said he'd still let you know why I'm late.

Haven't you got the fax yet?

long lie is just a long life without an 'f'

I wake up at 0540 hours during schooldays, and go to bed at 2300 to 0000 hours. On Saturday, I enjoyed the cool morning at 0600. Sunday is the worst, I can wake up at 0900 if the night before is six-packed with activities.

I'm up at 7am every morning.
Bummer is that when I don't need to be up for work on a week end, I still wake at 7.
