As far as I am aware it's impossible.

Now you know why Lexmark (and Dell) printers are so cheap = it's because the Cartridges are REALLY expensive and it is almost impossible to find 'compatible' (or factory refilled - home refilling is no longer practicable) cartridges that actually work ..

My suggestion ? Throw it away when the ink runs out = it's cheaper to buy a new printer ...
Replacement cartridges for HP's & the 'low end' Canon's are also well over priced ...

However the 'medium' priced Canon printers - the ones with the seperate Ink Tanks - are a bit better. First they have seperate colurs - and often a larger black ink tank - and compatible ink tanks are reasonably cheap (although usually the 'chip' has to be moved from the old tanks to the replacements)
