9/11 was a terrible disaster.

I was in the north tower just few hours before the tragedy, which add a little bit more of shock to me.

However, what spaghetti-for-brains George W. Bush has done to the U.S. and he is doing to Iraq, using 9/11 as an excuse, is not less than institutional terrorism.

In fact, Bush’s invasion of Iraq has to be the greatest strategic disaster in United States history.

Though 9 11 was an appalling event with all the sadness and war on terror that has followed. I don't think its the worst thing i have seen in my life time.

To be honest If i had to list events either natural or man made i think the Indian ocean tsunami of 2004 rates far higher in terms of horrific events. followed the Pakistan earth quake of 2005 of which many people died in the ruins of their homes - froze to death or simple staved. Then there was the Ethiopian famine of of 1983-1985.. Anyone remember live aid?. Anyone remember those pics on TV news of staving kids and their parents begging for food?... HOW MANY DIED?..

Also there are the wars and civil uprising which really do make one stop and think about just how cruel mankind can be.

Wars like World wars 1 and 2 - Afghanistan - Biafra civil uprising 1967 (now part of Nigeria) - Angola - Vietnam - Dar fur - Iraq/Iran - Iraq - Sudan - and many more to numerous to mention!.

There is also the hideous unrest in the middle east which has cost the lives of so many Innocent people on both sides.

Though 9 11 was important but on another level! - it brought home to people the notion that no where is safe when a determined terrorist or militant group wants to attack society causing chaos and death..

First off I can't read your email, so the link doesn't work ;)

Secondly I don't even consider the "9/11 disaster" as even being a blip on the radar of bad things that have happened since 2000. And when put in the context of disasters and bombings in modern history, it barely even scratches the surface of being defined as a "major disaster".

The over-reaction of the US government was worse than 9/11 itself.

If the entire world mobilised every time a building had been crashed into or bombed, then we'd never stop being in a state of war.

That was bad. But all the posturing that went on about rebuilding and not letting the terrorist win, and here it is 7 years later almost. And all that has been done at the WTC site is the rubble has been carted off, and no real rebuilding has been done. To me, that has enabled the terrorist to gain a little more ground each day. I would hope that some progress can be made at the site quickly, or we are really going to be left looking like chumps.

No.
Just our creator kicking the butts of living human kind at loss and blurr on what went wrong out there right under our nose with no one even noticing the mess created in own backyards out there.

No, the illegal occupation of my country is the worst thing I have encountered, in particular the Troubles.

Ummmm.... I DO recall the US getting involved with YOUR war, if memory serves me. You'd be SPRECHEN SIE DEUTSCH here if we didn't.

9/11 was very sad but it was nothing.
It's only significance was that it was the reason to launch a stupid war.
