They are currently being used on a tv advert. They are bits of molded plastic shaped in to a animal etc, with a small spring and a flat piece of plastic as a base. You pressed the plastic together and wait for the suction to give way and they popped up in the air. Looking for the real name for them, Thanks!

They were defiantly called 'popups'.
I have found a site where you can still buy them now and whats most amazing they still have the frogs!!.

They are older than 80's. They were popular when I was a kid in the 70's and they may have been around longer than that. I don't know what they are called though.

COLORFORMS!!!! They have been the shyt! I had the Smurfs one. there have been some mushroom properties and a pond with a dock to fish from simply by fact the back floor. I used to play with that ingredient for HOURS! What the hell ever occurred to Colorforms?

I remember these and I had a few, I think the earlier answer is right monster/animal poppers.

They were popular when I was a lad when we only got a lump of coal and an orange for Christmas...life was hard back then.

ooo i rememember them, but I dont know that I ever knew what they were called. my elder brother used to tell me to watch it very closley and carefully, and I did....every time resulting in it hitting me in the face!!! you would think after a couple of times, I would have learnt, but was only little!!!

i always thought they were called monster poppers! you could also get them without the spring as finger puppets.
