Well it depends on what kind of player your looking for. Cali has a lot of people their so obviously they produce a lot of players. But if you want freaks of nature your looking at states like Florida and Texas. High school football is insane their and great athletes come out of their. If you want some big hefty linemen you have to go up north to states like Michigan,Ohio, and, Wisconsin a lot of good linemen have come out of that area look it up.

Statisticly California has 198 NFL players and is first place in total current NFL players. Texas is second with with 173 players. After that is Florida with 169. Then there is a HUGH drop of to 4th place which is Georgia with 84 players.

However the amount of football players doesnt make the quality of football players. So lets look at a diffrent category. How about the Hall of Fame. Pennsylvania tops the list of Hall of Famers with 26. Closey followed by Texas with 25. Third goes to Ohio with 21. Fourth is Illinois with 16. (Cali has 15 and is 5th)

So my list for BEST players producing state goes to Pennsylvania, Texas, Ohio, Illinois.

I'm a Texas fan, but Florida has put out some great players recently: Reggie Wayne, Edgerrin James, Santana Moss, Kellen Winslow, Jr., so you get my point. Cal can sometimes put out some "media products" that look great, Ohio only puts out big, buff, and slow-minded players on the defensive side of the ball.

m*ch*g*n has produced Tom Brady and Charles Woodson. But as of recently I can't think of many more stars in the NFL. OHIO STATE has produced, Mike Vrabel a KEY defensive player for the same Pats as Brady. Buckeyes are also represented by Eddie George, AJ Hawk currently who already has led the Packers in tackles and top 5 last year in the NFL in tackles, numerous offensive linemen. Bottom line is as much as I HATE m*ch*g*n and love the BUCKEYES.... These two schools produce GRADE A NFL players. But I have a question for you about your question. Does one amazing player equal more talent than numerous excellent players?

I think that really depends on which areas support the sport most.

1. Florida
2. Texas
3. California
4. Illinois - mainly due to Chicago athletes
5. Ohio
