when astronomers say the universe is constantly getting bigger, they didn't mention(or maybe i just missed to hear it) what does the universe is occupying as it get bigger so i can't be sure.

The Universe Is Like A Sheet. So It Does Have Edges Presumably 30 billion Lights Years From Edge To Edge

This really depends on what you define as the "universe". If you are talking about the Observable Universe, then it simply expands into more of the same (more stars, more galaxies) - because it is defined by the distance of the most remote light we can see (imagine a sphere with a radious of some 13,7 billion years).

If you define the "universe" as everything that can possibly be, then there is nothing into which the Universe can expand. This would make the Universe infinite (but not necessarily occupying an infinite space - simply all the space that is available!).

Another way to view our Universe is to consider that it might be a part of a larger universe in which ours is only a small part (like an island in the ocean). This is actually just a modification of the first point above. However, depending on how each of the universes came into being, their physical laws and properties may be different.

According to the Anthropic principle, we live in the most likely of all universes. This principle in fact requires there to be an endless amount of possible universes, some of which must exist "out there".

The universe does not have an edge but does have an end. The end of the universe is Void "Absolute nothingness."

The universe is expanding into the void or nothingness. Proof is in the fact that matter in the universe is moving "apart". The matter is not simply moving away from other matter its moving together with the opposite opposing matter which is expanding the universe. The expansion is space`s atmosphere and atomic particles moving into the Void.

The only thing that can fill Void is space . If a spaceship where to travel to the end of space into the void the nothingness would actually swallow the spaceship. he only thing that can fill void is the expansion of space as a whole.
Space must fill the void completey at all ends of the universe which is why the universe is expanding as a whole.

Hi .The "edge"of the universe is constantly moving so the "outside" becomes the inside at the speed of light .If the universe suddenly stopped from expanding then there would be an outside but what it is nobody knows.

The word "edge" is not compatible with the word "universe". Similarly, the word "outside" is not compatible with the word "universe". A universe has neither an edge nor an outside. Therefore the question is a nonsense.

It may be impossible to know if you think of the big bang. If we are looking at other stars that are moving away from us and are as far away as we can see, we are looking way into the past. This is how we know that the universe is at least X years old based on how far away the object is (it would probabyl be a quasar at the farthest). If particles in the big bang flung away from each other at even half the speed of light, they would be moving APART from each other AT the speed of light. So things could be so far away that we don't even see them yet because it takes a long tim for light to get here.

Forgetting about the big bang:
If we can somehow see that something is the furthest away then anything else, that will be where it was BILLIONS of years ago because light can only travel so fast. By now it could be much further away and we wouldn't know for even more billions of years!!

Put simply, there is both "nothing" and "everything that will ever be" outside the universe. It is a good debate going on today, that paves the way for science breakthrough's and countless novels to be written.
