Hi i am trying to host a website.. I did write my index.html file and I created an account on awardspace.com and created my sub-domain name and uploaded my index.html file but when i try to view my webpage it says this website doesnt have index.html file uploaded.. can anyone please tell me why this is happening..

Make sure that you have uploaded your index.html file into the public_html folder at your webhost.

You can set the default page as index.html via your control panel.

If your host is on linux or unix type, then the index.html is CaSe sensitive. make sure you have the index page named exactly how the server is configured

sometimes they use just .htm

also make sure that your host doesn't a url forwarding and check and make sure you type in the correct url address when visiting your website. how did you upload your file? thru ftp software or thru the control panel file uploader something something. if you used a ftp program make sure that your setting is set to automatic when transferring files. goodluck!

Some host are key sensitives, please check the index.html if something is capitalized.
