On June 9th, "knocked up" comes out in the movie theatres and I will be 1 month from my due date (due July 7th).
Is it ok for me to go to a movie theature?? I really want to see that movie!
My husband said that they do not permit women to go into the theatre after 8 months pregnant because they are a liability and can go into labor and disrupt the movie and they would have to refund everyone's money for the inconvienance.
Is that true? or is he just being silly?
thanks!

LoL! That is a new one! :) I went to movies when I was highly pregnant and no one ever said a word... I think your husband maybe doesn't care for the choice of movie and is trying to make excuses?!
Enjoy the show! And tell him you want popcorn too!

Is this guy for real?!
I'll have you know that on Sunday, December 17, 1989 I went to the movies and saw "When Harry Met Sally..." and I was VERY pregnant w/a nearly 11 lb fetus! I gave birth that Wednesday, December 20th.
Go see the movie. You'll be fine. Leave HIM at home!
That is the most acenine excuse to get out of going to see a movie I have EVER heard!

I've honestly never heard of something that stupid. You being in a movie theatre is no different than being anywhere else. For example, if there are lawsuit issues for going places close to your due date, does that mean you're banned from grocery shopping? The only place I've heard you shouldn't go is on an airplane. You probably wouldn't be the only pregnant lady there, by the way and how the heck do they know how far along you are...if they were to ask, I would think that was plain rude and then I would fib..

The only reason you that should stop you is bedrest! Just sit close to the door for those untimely potty breaks! You don't want to disturb or annoy anyone else there! I know women that took their newborns to the movies and just breastfeed them when they get fussy or go out to the lobby if its real bad. Have fun pregnancy is not meant to hide its to show off!

That's silly. How would they know that a woman is at least 8 months along ? Some woman get huge early on and some women stay fairly small up to delivery. The employees at the movie theater have no way of knowing how far along you really are. Sounds like your husband is just getting tired of chick flicks. ;)

That's not true at all. Just try to move your legs a bit, like bicycle your feet, or stretch and flex your feet. It's not good to sit too long, but going to a movie should be fine, and I've never seen a pregnant woman turned away from a movie theater! Good Luck.

Oh yes girl it is ok to go to the movies, I went to a movie alone the day before I had my child, I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The only thing is, take a small pillow to go behind your back so you can kick back and relax and not have to worry about being uncomfortable. It is perfectly safe to go to the movies at eight months. Definatly enjoy yourself the next month or so because you will look back and wish you were pregnant again once you have the baby, My eighth and ninth month of pregnancy was the happiest time of my life. GOOD LUCK! and enjoy your movie!
