That is more of a statement than a question. Yes it is true. If you only maintained your engine, you would be in trouble. Why do you think a mechanic puts your car on the lift? There is a lot going on under your car that needs to be maintained. Brakes for an example.

While most of the vehicle maintenance is on the engine, that is not all that there is. There are tires, brakes, cleaning the car, lights, suspension, drive train, electrical, interior....

no you must keep the tires in good order and properly inflated. the body clean and free of rust. etc etc

grease is cheaper that metal so any maintenance is good.
