Walk in the countryside on a sunny day - cant beat it.

If you hunt around there are many free attractions in London. The Bank of England Museum is free. The Tate Gallery. exhibitions at the British Museum. Theres lots of events in the rest of the country too -eg the Maldon Mad Mud Race just after Christmas. The Thameside Mummers at leigh on boxing day. The Southend Aur display. Use the web to search - theres lots on for free. But best to plan in advance.

Go selling at a boot sale and let the kids sell their old toys to make money - they usually love that.

Feed the ducks at your local park. Or kick a football about.

Spend time with your friends and their family.

Or just take an interest in your kids - they're priceless.

Hiking.

Take 2 cars, park one at the entrance, and one at the exit and then hike back to the one at the entrance. Bring lunch in backpacks, and plenty of water and enjoy the walk and the talk and nature.

Leave nothing behind and take only pictures.
