and can generate more CD sales than say, the ousted contestant, Melinda Doolittle? Why did the Idol producers allow Blake to contact "Maroon 5" to get his song cleared. I even read that Blake chose that song -- isn't it supposed to be "Producer's Choice"? This is ridiculous!!

Parrot Bay: The producers chose crappy songs for the girls and allowed an uncleared song to get clearance for Blake. To me, that alone says a lot.

I guess this goes to show that any form of "reaily" television rarely ever is. I'm sure there is a marketing agenda behind it. Somewhere along the line, someone is making a buck or two... (as in a revenue stream!!!)
I have to say that they kept Blake probably as this years Taylor Hicks. These guys have a certain extra they add to music that makes ordinary stuff (sometimes) sound better. I'm also sure that its all about image--Blake looks like a performer, as does Jordin. Melinda--as great as she is, actually lacks the high level of confidence that was consistently shown by the 2 finalists.
They are all stars with a bright furute ahead of them. Hats off to all!!!

That is a disservice to David Beckham. The guy is as cute as a button and can actually sing though he should do away with the beatbox thing. He sounded good in the Robin Thicke song last night. I'm not a fan but Jordin might win because she has the 'young' vote.
Melinda is an amazing singer but I doubt if she can really sell records. She may have a small but steady singing career. She will never be mass market.

The Judges all liked Melinda the best, they were cleary trying to sway America that way, but The US liked Blake and Jordan more. It was a close vote and Melinda will do well. but unfortunitaly the tribe has spoken and it was time Melinda to extinguish her flame. (oh thats Survivor) anyway Democracy in action.

I don't know what medication your doctor has you on, but I have seen pictures of Blake, despite not watching AI, and there is no way he even resembles David Beckham.

He is better than Melinda and people voted. I actually dont feel Melinda would sell as many records as Blake. I think Antonella Barba should have been given a shot though.

he looks NOTHING like david beckham...the show is just rigged and the winner chosen by producers...ryan seacrest has said on his show all along that Jordan was going to win...Blake didn't chose the song, the producers did.
