Nope, I use to when I was younger.
We have been married 25 years now.
My hubby travels some.
We have guns in the house and a dog, so if the dog barks late at night, I know something isnt right. He never barks at night.

I stay up late on the computer to keep me occupied. That helps.

No. That has not been a bother ever. I usually have a large dog which makes life so much easier.

When I was younger and lived in a rough but trendy area of a big city, sometimes when I was in silence, I could hear people sneaking up the long metal fire escape. Sometimes I heard them come onto my deck, even rattle my door.

However, the sight of a very large old english sheepdog with a pot casse bark (loud and deep), always did the trick. I had another trick too, I always left a few returnables on the deck so they were happy and left. Dang that Lucy was my best friend for a decade!

Well, after raising my kids by myself for 8 years, I should hope not.

That's a long time to go with no sleep.

P.S. On a personal note, I sleep like a rock, come storm or earthquake. Exception: sick kids. Once I slept through a storm that ripped up whole trees, complete surprise to me the next morning when everything was Tore UP!!!!

I woke up during the earthquake, but things were starting to fall off shelves at that point, and then it ended.

There isn't a "man of the house" in my home and I haven't been scared yet. If there ever is one, I still won't be scared. Besides, I love the night. That's my favorite time of day.

YES - my fiancee is normally always home at night, but on some occasions he goes fishing and doesn't get home until 2:30 - i always stay awake until he gets home 1-to make sure nothing happens and he is safe2-because i can't sleep without him.i do get scared and creeped out,and also i am so use to him beside me,that i couldn't sleep if i weren't scared.i get paranoid alone at night and hear things - and think about scary movies(which i love) but not when im alone - he knows i get scared,so he makes a point to always be there, and on those few fishing occasions,is always home by 2:30(the lake closes at 2).he is very considerate of my feelings and safety.we do have 2 big rottweilers which help, and a firearm which he taught me to use.but - id rather have him than anything!to me,he is invincible =)

Because I am an accountant, I have to leave my secretary behind on most of business trips so that I can attend to them on a one to one basis.

Knowing my secretary very well she does get scared of the night whenever I am not around. A part from being her boss, I am also her boyfriend.

Did I answer your question properly , Sandstorm?

Yes, very much so. Since I am also afraid of guns we do not have one. Plus I tend to let my mind wander at night. I hear noises and see things that are not there. He makes me feel safe and without him I'm afraid something bad will happen. So usually when he is gone I sleep in the living room next to the phone with a light on.!!!

that never happens, but i still get scared, even with him home... I watched this totally freaky movie (session 9 with david caruso in it) and he fell asleep in the middle of it, then I started hearing wierd noises all over the house, then at the end of the movie i was really scared, and he just shuts off the tv and tells me to lock everything and left me in the middle of the front room all alone in the pitch black... i swear i almost peed myself, even when i got to bed i was scared out of my mind. Guess not all guys are sweet and protect you... lol.

No I get more sleep. I have a Dog who keeps me company.I don't need anyone else, he has the loudest bark for a small dog. So why would you need a man around when you already have one who has four legs and runs faster and has big teeth. Better to bite you with lol
