I've been told that Blaise is a boy's name, but I think it's pretty.

The pronounciation is actually "Blaze"

I like Blaise/Blaze/Blaize/whatever a lot, I think it's a cool name...for a boy, but I'm sorry--not for a girl. I don't think it goes well with Michelle either because Blaise *is* typically a boys' name, and to add Michelle to it sounds a little off.

My cousin is always naming her kids strange names. Her first daughter got off lucky: Hayley Marie. Her second baby, a boy, is Shade Candide (I like Shade, but not Candide.) Her third baby, a girl, got off lucky as well--Ashlynn (don't know middle name.) And her fourth baby (a boy) is named Race (which I kinda like, to tell you the truth!) I don't know his middle name though, and now baby #5 is due in July...and it's another boy. She is wracking her brain for an equally unusual boy name for this one as well. Blaise/Blaze would be a good choice for her fifth baby! I might suggest that to her.

But hey: your baby, your call! Whatever you name her, she's gonna be beautiful. :-) Congratulations!

I'm not fond of it. Blaise/Blaze. No matter the spelling, even if it's considered a unisex name, it leans towards male. I wouldn't name my daughter that. But that's my opinion. good luck

I think Blair would be MUCH better. Please think of your child...you're not the one who has to live with the name.

Blaise as a name in general is just awful.

I know a really nasty girl called Blaise, she has a sister called Jade and they are both bitchy girls. So I always associate this name with bad things...

I don't even know how to pronounce Blaise. I wanted to name my daughter Tuesday Montana, but the wife said no. Maybe that can work for you.

I really like the name, it's unique. I just had a son about 4 months ago and we named him Shelby Shawn. If you like it, stick with it. We did. :)
