It shouldn't be in the official wording of the pledge, but it should be understood that some people may wish to include it when they recite it, and that wish should be respected.

But honestly, there are far, far more important issues facing the U.S. today. It's pretty far down on the list of priorities.

I think that it should remain, because kids have the option of not reciting the pledge at all. However, I don't think we need to have prayer back in schools, because that is just assuming that everyone attending a public school is Christian, and that's just not going to happen in real life. We should support EVERYONE's religion, not just Christianity.

Yes there is no need to change the pledge it exists for tradition, if someone feels strongly about the phrase they need not say it or the pledge at all.

Most definitely, yes. People have been trying to take God out of everything these days....and look at what is happening to the world? It is going to hell in a hand basket and I somehow doubt that it is just a coincidence that it pretty much started at the same time as when people tried to get rid of God.

I think we should rename the days of the week; they all stem from pagainism, as well as the months in the year.
Even more frieghting August comes from Augustus of Rome. We are honoring the worship of a false idol...oh my!

Yes. Our country was founded on Christian principles, and while "Under God" was not a part of the original pledge, I believe it belongs there. Those who object should closely read the money they carry. It says "In God We Trust". How can you eliminate one without the other? And why don't they object to the money?

I think it should be taken out because of seperation of church and state. I feel highly uncomfortable having to recite the word "God" in anything. I don't care about it's historical foundings or whatever. History changes. This should too. It should be taken off of our money, as well.

If someone doesn't believe in God, then they should say "Under Dog" has the sam amount of syllables and you finish at the same time as the other kids.
