Success is a quantum of achievement that gives satisfaction and promotes you to go ahead in life. To achieve success you have to be very systemic and persistent in it. Hard work is the hallmark of success.

You must provide your own definition of success in any given task. I believe that success is more of a feeling than a measurable quanity. If I am pleased with what I have accomplished, then I have succeeded - regardless of the opinions of anyone else. It is quite possible (and even quite probable) that where I feel that I have succeeded, others will say that I have failed. From their perspective, they may be right for I may not have lived up to their expectations. But more importantly, from my perspective, I know I am right because I feel pleased with my accomplishment and myself.

To be clear about what success is must be the first step to achieving success.

So far, the best definition I have come across is: "Success is the completion of anything intended." In other words success is finishing what you planned to do.

success can be defined as the completion of a task satisfactorily. now here we have to defin what satisfactorily means it may b diferent for different people cause everyone has their own meaning. for example take a student who is weak in maths. for him success may be getting pass marks in the annual exam. but for his parents and teachers success may mean getting the hihgest marks. so success depends on the person who is doing the task

Success is the measure of your efforts put positively that matches to maximum requirement that a person forsees practically and logically.
It is the measure or a difference that matches between the actuals and the needed(planned).

In other words success is fulfillment of our ambitions and dreams that can come true.

very often we view success based on what is expected by society - which is of course a little sad. Something i ponder, while looking at babies, who are learning to walk. Nothing beats the joy they feel when they are finally able to stand on their own feet and walk step by step towards their mum.
that true joy is a feeling of success for both the baby and the parents (whom have put selfless effort to nurture their baby).
This form of joy is a success that farrrrrrrrrrr transcends the 'success' defined by society.
It transcends wealth, material possession, stubborn-pride or fame (which seem to have controlled the lives of everyday people).
To me, success is ascertain, as long as one improves daily no matter how insignificant the improvement might seem. "success is a ladder, not an escalator".
It has to be step by step and it must be truthful - it must not be defined by outsiders.

* Fruit of your effort.
* You cannot taste/feel it sweetly, if the mode of operation is wrong. Even defeat is a part of success, when the mode of operation is success and also if you have learnt from that.

By acquiring satisfaction in own self, on completion of the task, and at the same time by allowing others (who ever are concerned with the task) to extort pleasure from that acquired satisfaction.
This is as per my thesis ! don't know how far I am right ! it is all other to decide.

True success, according to me is when you complete your task through fair means, overcoming all difficulties, and not being overwhelmed by it. One is truly successful when he/she can react similarly to success or failure and move on in life. Also, success makes no sense if you are not happy within. Find your priorities in life.
