Is Hitler glorified by history? I didn't think he was.

I'm putting this up for a vote. Voters: remember the answers should be people that were GLORIFIED by history.

Ronald Mcdonald. Thousands of children will live miserable lives in obesity thanks to him.

Well, I think up until recently, Columbus was glorified by history. He even has his own day. But a lot of people don't think he's such a great guy anymore. There was this president a long time ago that used to have slaves, and he had several children by those slaves--I think maybe history should stop glorifying him. The Kennedys...um, I won't go into detail except to mention a woman named Mary Jo...I think maybe history should stop glorifying them too. They're not the worst, nor are they the most evil. They are simply some examples among many, many people who are celebrated when they really should be condemned.

~The list of the sadistic and 'evil' is prety extensive, but glorified too? Ghengis Khan, Napoleon, Kit Carson, George Custer and Andy Jackson have to be included. There must be room on the list for Pope Sixtus IV. Peter and Catherine are good choices. Patton was a lunatic, but not necessarily evil, and Nixon was an incompetent paranoid so he doesn't meet your criteria. Columbus hardly passes muster as 'evil' while Pol Pot, Joe Stalin and Adolf Hitler are not 'glorified' (and the good deeds they did for their nations are ignored or forgotten. I guess I'll have to go with Henan Cortes and Maximilien Robespierre.

Saloth Sar (May 19, 1925–April 15, 1998), better known as Pol Pot , was the leader of the Khmer Rouge and the Prime Minister of Cambodia.
The term "the killing fields" arose from the enormous amount of mass graves that were created when the Khmer Rouge murdered an estimated 1-1.5 million 'dissidents'. Most were clubbed to death or buried alive after being forced to dig their own graves. A Khmer Rouge doctorine was "Bullets are not to be wasted."
This guys got my vote...........!

Wow, total toss up between three of the worst, most murderous dictators of the 20th century: Josef Stalin, Mao Zedong, and Pol Pot. Each of them had a personality cult in their own country, was glorified by their history books, and was a horrible b*****d.

As a general type of person, pirates. Every little boy idolizes those murderous theives. Also, Ivan the Terrible (didn't he chop babies in half with his sword or something?). And Josef Mengele, although I'm not sure he was really glorified by history. I totally agree with Dub-ya, as well, although FDR? Hardly evil....
