I noticed a lot of the regulars, or the "Top Contributors" has to award their contact buddy's Best answer to keep their % way up.

I always have gone back to my question and read all the answers for the best one. Plus I rarely ask over two questions at one sitting.

I have gotten best answer to questions that were 3 months old. When you got any spare time, go to the vote for best answers on the old questions.

Not so, with all questions. Depends on the "quality" of a question. A number of questions even get thousands of answers, especially, the questions from "celebs," OR even those questions from "normal participants," which have high merit.

It depends on the category. In "Polls and Surveys", yes, they get lost. If you ask in other categories that are less busy, it is sometimes a good idea to extend the expiration, because answers can come more slowly and steadily.
